For the third year running, property development and commercial leasing company Waterloo Quay Properties, and one of its tenants, North Atlantic Drilling, are participating in Befriend a Child’s Christmas Giving Tree campaign.
The property firm, based at Aberdeen’s harbour side, has decorated a large Christmas tree in the reception of its commercial office development, Provender House. The tree, donated by North Atlantic Drilling, is decorated with specially designed gift tags, which people can select to provide Christmas gifts or a monetary donation for the charity.
Befriend a Child provides a one-to-one befriending service for vulnerable and underprivileged children aged 4-16 who live in the north-east. The Christmas Giving Tree scheme enables the charity to ensure that every child it supports receives some presents at Christmas time.
The gifts will be distributed to the children at Befriend a Child’s annual Christmas party on 12 December.
Managing director at Waterloo Quay Properties, Anna-Marie Eardley, said: “We are delighted to be working with our tenant, North Atlantic Drilling, once again on this special Christmas campaign for Befriend a Child. Last year was such a success and everyone who took part at Waterloo Quay truly felt privileged to be helping such a great cause.
“Christmas can be a particularly tough time for those less fortunate, so it is great that we can support children in Aberdeen and ensure they receive a gift to enjoy over the festive period.”
Development and resources manager at Befriend a Child, Lana Bambridge, added: “We are delighted that Waterloo Quay Properties and North Atlantic Drilling are taking part in our giving tree for the third year in a row, allowing us to give gifts to the children we support who may not have received anything this Christmas. We are incredibly thankful for all the support we receive from local businesses, allowing us to continue working with some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children in Aberdeen.”
