WESCO SPS relocates to Ocean Spirit House

Sourcing and procurement services firm WESCO SPS has secured a three-year lease with North-east property development and office leasing company, Waterloo Quay Properties (WQP).

 

WESCO, which is headquartered in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, has relocated its Aberdeen office from Exchange House, in the city’s Merchant Quarter, to WQP’s Ocean Spirit House, a 18,290 sq ft office development at Aberdeen harbour.

 

The move has provided WESCO with 1,643 sq ft of office space and an improved layout for its team of eight staff. Located on the third floor of Ocean Spirit House, WESCO’s new office allows for potential expansion in the future.

 

WQP comprises of ten commercial office buildings, all of which are located in the heart of the city’s harbour area. Offering in excess of 160,000 sq ft of mainly Grade ‘A’ office space, the site also has a multi-storey car park, as well as ancillary services such as an on-site café, fully equipped gym, private and open meeting spaces, IT support and a courtesy shuttle bus.

 

There are currently 33 tenants occupying WQP office space, in properties including Provender House, Merchants House, Pioneer House, Navigator House, Voyager House and Nautilus House, all of which overlook Victoria Dock. Despite the current climate in Aberdeen, the number of tenants continues to grow by the month, with the firm’s virtual offices, hot desk facilities and small office suites attracting new start-ups and growing businesses.

 

After undergoing a £1.9 million office redevelopment of Provender House in 2013, the property firm also completed an £18 million, 60,000 sq ft harbour-side development, Horizons House, in partnership with local developers Cromdale, earlier this year. Going forward, WQP now plans to start a phased modernisation and upgrade of some of the office space in its traditional granite buildings, which make up 100,000 sq ft of the WQP harbour estate.
